Humans

This was supposed to be a project to see how humans are similar to or relate to each other. However, the more I exploration, the more it began morphed into the distinctiveness of what was not 'human'.

I wanted to look beyond norms and chose ‘circus freaks’ to highlight similarities in differences. The ‘freaks’ in my project became a championing thought as it reminded me that however denied, people do judge a book by its cover. 

Each drawing of facial emotions, body language and history of each character has led me to understand how we behave towards each other. The details I have embedded and the use of mixed media like charcoal, pen, varying degrees of pencil has helped me capture the essence of each character.
